In the beginning your new partial denture might feel a bit awkward or bulky. This is completely normal, and you will quickly become accustomed to wearing it. We do not recommend wearing your partial all day long the moment your receive it. Just like wearing a new pair of shoes we recommend to gradually work up to wearing it all day so you can get used to your new partial in a more natural and comfortable manner.
Chewing food might be difficult at first as you get used to your new partial denture. It is recommended to start with softer foods that are cut into smaller pieces. Then gradually moving onto other types of foods when you become more accustomed to your partial denture. Eating very hard or sticky foods is not advised as to avoid damaging the partial denture.
Speaking with your partial denture might also take some time getting used to. But, most people learn to speak properly with the denture in their mouth by reading out loud and repeating the words that are giving them problems until they can pronounce them properly.
To avoid damaging the partial dentures and to give your jaw and gums some time to rest be sure to take them out before going to sleep and putting them back in your mouth when waking up. Partial dentures might take a little time to get used to. But when you do, you can return to eating your favorite foods and speaking clearly without any impediment.
With proper care, your snap-on veneers should provide you with years of use, although the lenghth of time that your appliance can be used will be dependent on a variety of factors, including how often you wear it (on a regular basis, or only periodically for special occasions), how carefullly you handle and store the appliance when not being used, what you bite and chew on while the snap-on veneer is in your mouth, as well as other factors.
While BellaVeneers are not bulky in material (less than 1 mm), they are still something new that will fit over your teeth so your tongue and mouth muscles will need to adapt to them. It may be an adjustment to having them on, but the more you practice speaking with your snap- on veneers, the easier it will be. We found that singing your favorite song in the shower helps!
Since BellaVeneers are designed from impressions made at home, they are customized to fit precisely over your teeth. BellaVeneers will fit securely over your teeth without the need for any adhesive materials.
When you first get your braces off or finish your clear aligner treatment, your orthodontist will provide instructions for retainer wear. For the first few months, most patients will wear their removable retainers full-time, day and night, removing only for meals and drinking, and to brush their teeth and clean the retainers. In certain cases, the orthodontists may instruct you to wear retainers only at night and to switch to full-time wear if you notice some shifting.
Some minor shifting of your teeth is normal after orthodontic treatment: this is called dental settling. Even with proper retainer wear, there will still be minor shifting as the teeth settle into their permanent positions. If the retainer is fitting well, you don't need to worry about this minor shifting.
When you reduce the time of wearing your retainers to nightly use, you'll store your retainer safely in a case for the day, and then put the retainers in after brushing your teeth to sleep. Wear them all night long while you sleep, and wash them gently every morning before putting them back in the case.
How long a retainer lasts depends on which retainer type you have, as well as how well you care for the retainer. The Hawley retainer is a removable retainer made of metal wires and hard acrylic. This type of retainer is sturdy and durable and built to last for several years. Many patients find Hawley retainers to be more noticeable and less comfortable. than Clear plastic retainers: These retainers are generally worn as a set, with one on the top and one on the bottom rows of teeth. Clear retainers are comfortable and cost-effective to replace.
Adapting to a night guard is worth the effort as it protects against teeth grinding and clenching. With some perseverance, you'll soon be accustomed to this custom-fitted mouthpiece, giving your peace of mind with its effective defense for better sleep. Getting a night guard may require some adjustment to ensure it is comfortable and effective. Wearing the initial device could have an unfamiliar feel, but any minor discomfort should dissipate as you become accustomed to wearing your custom-fitted night guard overnight.
A night guard is designed to protect your teeth, but it may also increase the amount of saliva produced in your mouth. While this reaction is completely natural, too much moisture can interfere with getting a good night's sleep. A simple solution: take a few sips of water before slipping into bed and frequently swallow throughout the night for optimum comfort while wearing a custom night guard.
When wearing a night guard, your bite may feel slightly different than it does without the night guard. This is because the night guard creates a barrier between your teeth that can change how your teeth come together. This should not be a cause for concern, as it is a normal part of wearing a custom-fit night guard.
Night guards are not indestructible and will eventually wear out over time. Depending on the type of night guard you have, replacing it every six months to a year is the standard lifespan for your custom-made night guard. If you notice any signs of wear or damage to your night guard, you'll know it will need to be replaced to retain its efficacy.
You should start seeing results from a custom- made whitening gel tray in about a week, with maximum results seen in 2 to 4 weeks' time. The amount of whitening you see will vary based on the strength of the peroxide used and length of time worn. Unless you have sensitivity issues, you should be diligent in how often you wear them. Consistent use until results become visible is important. The application of the teeth whitening varies based on the amount of whitening you desire. If you're not experiencing any sensitivity, you should wear the trays for at least 1-2 hours a day, or even sleep with them in your mouth. However, some patients may require significant wear to ensure stains are removed, while others may only require minimal treatment; it's based on the needs of each case.
But more importantly, users should expect to wear the teeth trays until the teeth have reached the right shade of white planned to be achieved. However, it can take a few weeks in some scenarios, or for significant stains, it can take up to a year.
Teeth whitening is not a medical procedure, since it doesn't result in healthier or stronger teeth, but it can certainly result in whiter teeth. It's a bleaching procedure that uses custom whitening trays, placed over the teeth to give that bright and fresh look back to your mouth without the expense of other costly, generic cosmetic dentistry solutions. Its greatest advantage is that it can be done without a dentist's supervision.
Teeth whitening trays have become an accessible and relatively easy way to improve your dental appearance after just weeks in some cases.
You can also help maintain the initial tooth whitening results by flossing and rinsing every day. Additionally, ensure you avoid acidic and tannin-rich foods and drinks that contribute to staining.
