This is my story, I was fishing on Lake Nokomus,in Minneapolis Minnesota, I had just finished a beer and some went down the wrong pipe. I started to cough and out of my mouth and into the lake went my teeth.
I went to 3 different dentist in the area. I explained I had a lower plate for years, but every single one ignored what I wanted and tried to get me to do full tooth removal and implants. The quotes were $19,000 -$25,000. To which I replied I’m not looking to leave them to someone in my will. Thank god a google search turned up dentallab Direct. An acrylic flipper partial is a removable device that temporarily replaces one or more missing teeth. The device is held by metal wire clasps that wrap around existing teeth for a secure hold. While this is not a permanent fix, dental flipper teeth give you a complete smile as you wait for a more long-term solution.
Absolutely, you can eat with a flipper tooth. However, while you can eat with it, caution about what you munch on is imperative. It’s best to avoid super hard, sticky, or crunchy foods. Take smaller bites and chew gently, especially at first.
While acrylic flipper teeth are designed to be discrete, someone might notice them if they look very closely. However, advances in the materials have allowed for more natural-looking and esthetically pleasing flipper teeth.
Remove the flipper daily to clean it. Use a soft-bristled brush and mild soap or denture cleaner with lukewarm water. Soak the flipper overnight in plain water or denture tablets to keep it moist and prevent the acrylic from drying out and warping. Take out your flipper overnight to give your gums a rest and prevent fungal infections.
When you first receive your acrylic flipper, start with soft foods like yogurt, mashed potatoes and scrambled eggs. Cut food into smaller pieces and chew slowly. Practice speaking with your flipper by reading aloud to help your tongue and mouth adjust to the new appliance.
